Thursday Thirteen #1

This is my first Thursday Thirteen and i’m pretty excited….

Thirteen Things that Clue you in to the fact that your house has been invaded for the holidays.

1. It’s 6am and your up talking to the coffee pot loudly to brew faster because you REALLY need that first cup of coffee before you mess with that 20lb turkey.
2. You answer the phone at an un-human hour and the first thing you hear is… “Are you awake Honey” (insert Southern Drawl)
3. It’s 7am and there is a knock at the door and you don’t wonder who it is.
4. There is clinking and banging in your kitchen  and all you can do is make a list of what needs to be put back in its proper place when everyone leaves.
5. when you clean all day the day before and realize that there was one room your forgot and start rushing around to clean your own bedroom because you know at some point someone will go in there to watch a football game because the other 2 games on the other 2 TV’s aren’t what someone wanted to watch.
6. When you have to remember to set up card tables in your living room because no one understood that your house doesn’t hold 30 people
7. When your kids are hiding in their room because the “Pinchy” Great Aunt is here
8. When you have heard 20 times in an hour “You really should find your self another husband Dear”
9. When someone shouts “Hey why did you rent a carpet cleaner”  and all you can think of is…. “DUH!!!!’
10. When you suddenly hear someone banging on something and realize that your Mr-Fixit Uncle is at it again and its not even 9am and that you have at least 6 more hours for him to find something else to “fix”
11. When you hope you hid the Christmas lights well enough from your Mr-Fixit uncle
12. When you suddenly “forgot” something and have to run to the store.
13. When you look at your bed and pray someone isn’t buried under that mountain of coats.
